13 Schools Closes over Sub-Standards

Ibanda
The education department Ibanda district led by the district inspector
of schools Kosam Beinomugisha and Gaudias Ahimbisibwe D.E.O has
closed over 13 schools due to failure to meet the required standards of
education.

The move started over the weekend starting in Ibanda town council where five schools
were closed and is aimed at closing all private schools that have
given a deaf ear and failed to adhere with the guidelines of ministry
of education and sports.

Kosam revealed that the schools which were closed includes , Grace nursery school, hill side primary, Nyanstsimbo town school,  Kakinga junior, Kakinga demonstration and Liberty primary school I Ishongororo town council were total closed over inadequate
substandard and dilapidated structures, poor hygiene, while Kiburara
unity three class rooms ,p5,6Ibanda Great Angels nursery & primary school in
Lugazi ward, Bright stars Kindergarten & primary school in Lugazi
ward, Little Angels in Omukasaka-Nyakatokye, Katooma foundation
Nursery & primary school and Milano secondary school in Ibanda  and 7 closed over lack of enough structures, Nakasero nursery and primary, primary section was closed
,Desire primary shoo in Bisheshe sub county primary seven class was
closed until the standard is reached.
The schools closed were operating without ministry of education’s license, poor conditions under school administration , un modernized boarding
sections, using poly then bags to cover food and  sharing of classes due to lack of enough class rooms.
Ahimbisibwe further warned Ankole high school, Bright light primary school in
Ruhoko, Crane international primary school in Katooma trading center
and Christ high school and Oxford Secondary School to improve their standards.
However many directors a setting to sue District Education Officer due to brutal punishments he put on these schools without first informing them saying that in education act D.E.O is not supposed to close the school  which is licensed.
